Unmatched level of service

The other banks don’t give this service. I never have to take breath to see if a charge goes through. It always works. Thank you AmEx.

Very pleased

I like this card because it is very easy to use. It has a low interest rate and I receive my statement in due time. The card also reminds me when I am due for payment. It has a good and easy reward program. I can easily increase my daily limit if I need to.

Very satisfied with the card

The card has lots of cashback offers for household appliances. You can get rewards points if you spend a specific amount in the 1st transaction. Many online offers in the US but very less offers in the Asia Pacific region. Wish we had more offers in the Asia Pacific regionLove…

Pros & cons

What's good

  • 350,000 bonus Membership Rewards points to start, worth around $3,500 at our 1c-per-point valuation.
  • Complimentary international travel insurance.
  • Points transfer to 13 rewards programs, including Accor Live Limitless (ALL), Air New Zealand Airpoints and British Airways Club.
  • Earns 1 point per $1 on ATO and government payments, where many rewards cards earn nothing.

Worth noting

  • The $1,750 annual fee is high for a Platinum card, where the typical fee is about $155.
  • 3.5% foreign transaction fee on overseas spending, at the high end of the market.
  • Charge card: the full balance must be paid each month, with no option to carry a balance.
